Purchase
November 8, 2001
I called Rex back, and spoke with his wife. I
agreed to send the money via certified check. We spoke about shipping
and the hassles associated with it. Shipping can take a while and
you never pay up front. Gotta dangle the carrot to get your prize.
On the engine front I found a freshly rebuilt
392 for $2500 that would

drop right into my car and was good to go. Normally, I would
have wanted to build this from the ground up, especially
since I fear other peoples mechanical work and this
project is supposed to represent me, not someone else, but
a budget is a reality and I will still do some things to
it prior to installation, so it will have my mark. I still
may go through it completely to ensure its integrity, but
for now, I have a good engine that with a little tweaking
will be a meaty powerhouse. I fired a certified check off
to the owner and it |

be shipped from Oregon.
As you can see from the pictures, she
needs a set of tires. Apparently they were holding air,
but the heat in Utah is so great that they rapidly rot away.
I ordered a set of old school Firestone bias-ply
3 1/4 wide white wall tires for her from Tennessee.
Ill be repainting the wheels red and fitting a set
of 53 Oldsmobile Fiesta hubcaps, |
which were the cool custom accessory back in the day.
Ive been researching how to tint
primer. I want to shoot the car using a midnite blue tinted
primer. I havent shot a car myself before, so Im
looking forward to learning a little about it.
Ive also been dreaming about white
tuck & roll. I liked the white interior of my Grand

and think it would look real nice with the midnite blue
suede paint.
At this point I wait for arrival.
